Workshop on Intersectional Monitoring and Evaluation

Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+) is rooted in intersectionality and can be applied throughout the policy, program or project cycle including in the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) phase. As GBA+ has become a mainstream practice throughout the Government of Canada, its application in federally-funded projects has increased.
Join SEASONOVA for a free two-part interactive workshop on November 1st and 3rd from 11:30 – 2:30 pm EDT.
Participants will learn practical ways to integrate intersectionality and GBA+ into aprogram or project’s evaluation framework and gain further understanding of intersectional feminist approaches to evaluation.
Participants will be able to:
● Recall the components of an evaluation framework
● Identify ways of how to integrate intersectional feminism in the evaluation process
● Reflect on how you may adapt a current evaluation to include intersectionality
Further instructions, including a pre-registration survey will be sent to you once you register for this workshop.
Unfortunately, space for this workshop is limited. We appreciate all who are interested in attending and request that only up to 2 individuals register per organization. Please ensure that you are able to attend the full 3 hour sessions on both days of the workshop. Space will be prioritized for members of the Equal Futures Network and to those who are able to participate in the full workshop.

About the facilitators:
Jhoanna Gonzales Miners, MA (she/her) is the CEO & Principal Consultant at SEASONOVA, a diverse consulting firm specializing in the application of intersectionality and Gender-based Analysis Plus in pursuit of people-centric equitable solutions. Prior to SEASONOVA, she has worked in policy, research and evaluation at the Nova Scotia Department of Justice, Status of Women and the House of Commons. She has trained hundreds of professionals in GBA Plus, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Gender Equity, and Evaluation. She has a Master of Arts in Public and International Affairs from the University of Ottawa.
Uduak MacKenzie, MSc (she/her) is a Research & Policy Consultant at SEASONOVA passionate about integrating anti-oppressive and anti-racist approaches in policy analysis and research to better serve equity-seeking groups and promote inclusion. Prior to joining SEASONOVA, Uduak supported people returning to the workforce, including individuals from marginalized communities to gain meaningful employment. She recently completed her Masters of Science in Medical Neuroscience from Dalhousie University.
