SRHR & Climate Justice: Advancing a Human Rights-Based Approach

Climate change, gender equality, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are inextricably linked. SRHR must be considered as a key component of climate adaptation and resilience action and of climate justice. This event will bring together panelists and experts from the SRHR & Climate Justice Coalition, launched last year at Generation Equality Forum, and the Women & Gender Constituency, who advocate collectively for feminist principles under the UNFCCC. We will explore and share key recommendations for global policy spaces like CSW66, such as applying a human rights and social-justice based approach to climate action that includes the full range of SRHR, committing robust and feminist financing for the climate and SRHR intersection, ensuring SRHR is integrated into specific UNFCCC Gender Action Plan activities, and engaging girls and women, in all their intersecting identities, and youth- and gender-focused organizations in climate processes.

Hosted by: SRHR & Climate Justice Coalition & Women and Gender Constituency
