Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Workshop

THESE SESSIONS ARE NOW FULL AND REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.  IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO JOIN, PLEASE EMAIL EFN-RAE@CANWACH.CA TO BE ADDED TO A WAITLIST FOR FUTURE SESSIONS.

Please ensure that you are able to attend all three sessions when registering for this workshop

Fueled by the racial injustice of the death of George Floyd in May 2020, topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion have been once again thrust into public consciousness. Despite the public’s recent focus on issues of inequities, the principles of racial equity, diversity, and inclusion (REDI) are often misunderstood, misinterpreted, and misapplied.

Join the Equal Futures Network for a free, three-part interactive workshop series facilitated by the Inclusion Project on December 7th, 13th and 15th from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm EST to develop a deeper understanding of REDI as well as practical skills to strengthen personal and organizational competencies for applying these principles to their work.

Learning Objectives:

After this workshop participants will:

– Understand REDI and intersectionality as well as individual responsibilities for engaging with BIPOC communities in meaningful, respectful, and culturally sensitive ways;

– Develop a deeper understanding of bias by exploring unconscious and conscious behaviours;

– Identify areas for improvement to create and maintain a racially equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Further details and information for how to join the session will be sent out via email once you have successfully registered.

*Unfortunately, space for this workshop is limited. We appreciate all who are interested in attending and request that only up to two individuals per organization register at this time. Please ensure that you are able to attend all three sessions as each workshop builds off of the work done in the previous one in the series. Space will be prioritized for members of the Equal Futures Network and those who are able to participate in the full workshop.

*This session will only be offered in English. We will look to offer a similar training of this workshop in French in the future if there is an interest from members of the Equal Futures Network.

NOTE: THESE SESSIONS ARE NOW FULL AND REGISTRATION IS CLOSED.  IF YOU WERE UNABLE TO JOIN, PLEASE EMAIL EFN-RAE@CANWACH.CA TO BE ADDED TO A WAITLIST FOR FUTURE SESSIONS.
