Free All-Day, Family-Friendly Event to Feature Live Music from 20 Indigenous Acts, Food Vendors, Crafts in the Heart of Winnipeg’s Exchange District
Indigenous Music is celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day with a free all-day family-friendly concert at The Cube in Winnipeg’s Exchange District on June 21.
The Nistumee Neepinee Keesikow Concert will span the genres and spotlight 20 Indigenous artists from Manitoba along with a DJ playing music by Indigenous artists between sets, food vendors, and crafts by Indigenous artisans.
The live music lineup taking the stage features up-and-coming acts alongside more established performers for a packed day of inspiring Indigenous voices. Artists slated to perform include Becky Lou, Brandi Vezina, Daniel Désorcy, Drezden, Gator Beaulieu, JC Campbell, Jerry Sereda, Joe Maxim, Kris Paul, Kristen McKay, Kwiat, Low Budget Rock Star, Martin Desjarlais, Mic North, Nelson Little, Rhonda Head, riel., Stun, The Bloodshots, and Violet Vopni.
Performers will also have the opportunity to participate in Manitoba Music’s Sound Waves Music Meeting, which takes place June 23 – 25, to continue building their creative skill set and connect with industry experts and peers.
