Sexual Health and Immigrant Women – A Discussion From SASSASK & CAWI

This event is part of CAWI’S Sexual Health Campaign, which aims to raise awareness about sexual health and immigrant women.

Patience Umereweneza, Project Specialist at the Sexual Assault Services of Saskatchewan, will discuss the findings of the Saskatchewan sexual violence research study. Patience has led the development of the first comprehensive study on the state of sexual violence in Saskatchewan, and informed the development of 22 actions within the first Saskatchewan Sexual Violence Action Plan. Her valuable input on Saskatchewan’s sexual violence research study will be presented in relation to immigrant women among other minorities.

Ana-Maria, a representative of CAWI, will also discuss the findings of CAWI’s research study on Sexual Health Education and how it pertains to minorities like immigrants and the LGBTQ+ communities.
