Rural Economic Empowerment and Financial Independence Post Covid-19

Civil Society Organisations all over the world have spent the past two years working harder than ever to ensure that COVID-19 does not mean the most vulnerable are left behind. Progress on the SDGs has stalled, and the ‘Shadow Pandemic’ of domestic violence has left women in rural communities more at risk than ever. This event seeks to identify good practice and examples of success in the necessary but often challenging collaborations between civil society, national governments, and international agencies. We are pleased to showcase at the centre of this event new research undertaken by ACWW member society Rural Women New Zealand, examining the workforce challenges that rural communities in Aotearoa/New Zealand, and their successful collaboration with their government to help build effective national action plans.

This event will take place online, using the Zoom Webinar platform, and will be facilitated and hosted by the Associated Country Women of the World. We are pleased to be joined by representatives from Rural Women New Zealand, UNESCO, and other civil society partners.
