Hair & Mind/Body & Soul

Join the AIDS Committee of Ottawa, Co-Creath, Umoja, Canadian Women of Colour Leadership Network, Somerset West CHC and Ottawa Public Health for a two-part collective self-care gathering for Black women and Black gender-diverse community members. We aim to create culturally-safe spaces for Black women and Black gender-diverse folks to talk freely about hair health, mental health, sexual health, skincare, plant care and HIV self-testing and how all can be seen as forms of self-care. There will also be gift bags, with hair and body care products available for attendees.

See schedule below:

July 29th: 2pm to 7pm – Hair: hair maintenance tips and protective styles for the summer months

July 29th: 2pm to 7pm – Mind: destigmatizing Black mental health through a writing workshop

July 30th: 2pm to 7pm – Body: focus on re-centering ourselves through skincare

July 30th: 2pm to 7pm – Soul: guided meditation and a Rooted workshop to reset and reclaim our roots & to close the event

Please note that there are two (2) sets of tickets, for each day: July 29th – HAIR & MIND / July 30th – BODY & SOUL
