Control the Conversation & Get the Funds You Need for Your Business.

WHEN: Thursday, April 18, 2024 – 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM (CDT)

The information delivered in this webinar will help women understand what they needed to do and take the necessary steps to help them secure the funding they need to grow their business.

This free webinar is for all self-identified women in the agriculture and food sector, including those under-represented, that own or want to start a business and need funds.

Although women are typically well-prepared when they meet with financial institutions and investors, they are often turned down or receive less funding than men. The reason is that unconscious gender bias plays a role in the question and answer (Q&A) period that investors base their decisions on. As a result, women are asked different questions than men, and often find themselves in a defensive position instead of a position of power that allows them to advance a business proposal that persuades investors.

This free webinar, hosted by Manitoba Women in Agriculture & Food (MWAF), and delivered by the nationally recognized mentor and Investoready founder, Dr. Ellen Farrell, will focus on understanding the issues and importance of Q&A to Venture Capitalists, and the elements and language that are essential to know before entering into a typical Q&A.

Women will walk away from this session knowing that confidence is not enough and they need to control the conversation to succeed in securing funding. They will learn the materials they need to prepare for the meeting, how to deliberately avoid discussing some topics, and ensure they discuss others.
