Busting Sexual Violence Myths: Combatting Victim Blaming

May is Sexual Assault Awareness month. To wrap-up victim blaming awareness month and moving into sexual assault awareness, WSN is hosting a educational session around sexual violence and the myths surrounding this difficult topic. Many women and femme-identifying folks have received “advice” on how to stay safe from being assaulted, rather than ensuring the blame is where it belongs: on those perpetrating sexual violence. We will be discussing some of the advice folks have received throughout their life and providing information to bust some of these widespread beliefs.
