Moment of honesty: we made a mistake at Future of Good.

We scheduled our inaugural Women’s Economic Resilience Summit for June 8th and 9th — which overlaps with Equal Futures 2022: A Gender Equality Summit on June 7th and 8th, brought to you by Equal Futures Network, an initiative of the Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health (CanWaCH), and one of our Future of Good members.

Our first thought? Oh no! Our next thought: This is an amazing opportunity to build an even bigger community around gender equity in Canada, and practice collaboration over competition.

Thankfully, Equal Futures Network saw it the same way and we’re thrilled to announce that we’re teaming up!

So, here are the ways we are collaborating on our summits, and we look forward to welcoming attendees across both of our communities:

  • Virtual participants of Equal Futures 2022: A Gender Equality Summit can join our summit attendees live on our virtual networking platform, Braindates starting June 7, 2022. Equal Futures Network members will be highlighted on June 7, allowing participants of both events to network and share learnings on topics like feminist reciprocity, the gender wage gap, feminist funding models, and more. We anticipate hundreds of these valuable connections.
  • We are excited to offer a discounted ticket to the entire Women’s Economic Resilience Summit to all Equal Futures Network members, which includes one-year of Future of Good membership.
  • Future of Good Editor, Kylie Adair, will be moderating the Advancing gender equality in Canadian politics panel live at the Equal Futures 2022 Summit on June 7, 2022. Confirmed panelists are Fae Johnstone, Debbie Owusu-Akyeeah, Anjum Sultana, and Raine Liliefeldt.
  • Future of Good readers will read a story rounding up learnings and new perspectives from the Equal Futures 2022: A Gender Equality Summit by CanWaCH’s CEO, Julia Anderson — watch for this post-summit(s).

“The power of this partnership between the Future of Good and the Equal Futures Network is generating a defining moment that will advance the gender equality movement in Canada for weeks and months to follow,” said Julia Anderson, CEO of CanWaCH.

“I’m so grateful Future of Good’s readers and community members will be able to network and connect with the Equal Futures 2022 summit attendees,” says Kylie Adair, Future of Good’s editor. “What a fantastic opportunity to really immerse ourselves in conversations about intersectional gender equity over the course of those three days. I can’t wait for the inevitable insights, perspective shifts, and connections.”
