Equal pay is everyone’s business: All engaged in advancing women’s economic empowerment

Globally, unequal pay is one of the most persistent barriers to women’s economic empowerment, and long-standing gender inequities have been amplified in the context of COVID-19. Moving towards a human-centred recovery requires that equal pay be addressed as an issue which everyone can contribute to and benefit from. This virtual side event, which addresses the CSW66 review theme, will focus on the key role of a collaborative approach between governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations, and the private sector in advancing equal pay. The event is organized by the Government of Canada, in collaboration with the Equal Pay International Coalition (EPIC).
